Christian Songs played on Mainstream Radio – Focus on Switchfoot

A lot of musicians and bands who aren’t necessarily classified as being Christian, have song lyrics with biblical themes.  Their Christian faith is being shared in their music and thousands if not millions of us who sing along to their catchy tunes do it without knowing that they carry a Christian message. Popular Christian music is being played more and more on mainstream radio. We have some really great musicians out there Christian or otherwise.

I will be adding a new song now and again with the lyrics for those interested to the time to listen to these songs to view them in a new way.

Today I focus on Switchfoot – ‘Dare You To Move’

The band is an award winning and well known American alternative rock Christian band. The song’s central focus is on the second coming of Christ.

Lyrics:

Welcome to the Planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone’s here
Everyone’s here
Everybody’s watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness
